With digital photography, we can easily solve these problems with focus stacking where you take a series of photos with different focal points and then combine them to get an amazingly sharp photo from front to back. It’s easy to do and doesn’t require any special equipment. Yet it’s a technique very few photographers, including most very good photographers, don’t use.

John Klingel will show you how to manually shoot a series of photos for focus stacking and how to combine the photos in post processing. In addition, he will demonstrate very sophisticated software that automates the process.

Sculptor David Rogers creates insects such as 25-foot-long ants and dragonflies with 17-foot wingspans using combinations of whole trees, cut green saplings, dry branches, and other forest materials. The inherent uniqueness of these materials, their different shapes, colors and textures provide these sculptures with character, definition and a sense of motion.
Big Bugs at Heritage includes three ants, a dragonfly, a damselfly, an assassin bug, a praying mantis, a spider on a web, a ladybug, and a daddy longlegs.
